I took a quiz about my views on Culture & Our World and the Church and how they are tied to the Kingdom of God. Some of the questions were vague and/or contained logical fallacies, but it yielded thought-provoking results:

I don’t know if I’m comfortable having my ideal packaged and labeled as the “Kingdom as a Christianized Society,” but I do like the explanation that follows it.
The quiz does spur some thought in me about my profession. Youth ministries should be places that encourage Christ-following students to relentlessly pursue that balance of not withdrawing from the world but being part of what’s going on and working for the resoration of everything.

Russell! I totally remember you from your MHS days and I also remember going to the dance! It has been quite a long time since I’ve seen you or Anina, but it was great hearing from you! Thanks for the encouragement as well. This is my first tenure at a Presbyterian church and it has been now over 2 long, but exciting years. It is tough working with Sessions and committees and everything, but ministry is good. I think God has been doing some healing and restoration in me lately and just giving me some hope, and I can’t wait to start the new year afresh.
Where are you doing ministry? I’d love to talk some more sometime. And by the way, I think if I were to take the Kingdom of God quiz, I’d probably score myself as “Kingdom as counter-system” or “Kingdom as eartly utopia” (though I might change “utopia” to something else).
